Social Media Plan

First Social Media Platform Utilized

The first platform I choosing for my social media marketing plan is Instagram. One objective that I have for my social media plan is having 40% of our followers be male by the end of this fall semester. Males are more likely to have poor oral hygiene and therefore are more at risk for periodontal diseases. My second objective would be to see an increase in engagement with our posts from our followers by the end of the fall semester. Whether it be follows, likes, shares, comments, having customers engaging with our content lets us know they might be interested in purchasing our product. The reason I am choosing this platform over the others is because the age group I am trying to target (IU Indianapolis students) use this app the most compared to others. In order to support my marketing plan, I plan on having some of my posts being directed at males. For example, my post could say something like “CALLING ALL BOYS:” and then go on to inform them about what they are at risk for and what they can do to prevent it (purchasing electric iO toothbrush). To increase the number of people engaging with our posts/page, I plan on doing a giveaway raffle where they will be entered to win an electric toothbrush if they follow our page, like the post, tag 3 friends in the comment section, and share the post on their story. Through this, I hope the tagged friends will also follow the page and eventually many students from IU Indianapolis will be following our page too

On the weekdays, prime time is considered anywehere between 6pm-9pm. This is when students are off work, school, taking a study break, or simply online while eating a meal. We will be posting our posts during this time to ensure it reaches as many people as possible.

According to University Business, approximately 47% of undergraduate students use Tik Tok daily.

Second Social Media Platform Utilized

The second platform I am using for my social media marketing plan is Tik Tok. This platform will allow me to reach my intended audience with less difficulty because I know vast majority of students are on the app. Using trendy Tik Tok audios, we could also post pictures where we advertise the product and compare it to a manual toothbrush. We would create a slideshow where our followers look through the slides and are informed about our product as the audio plays in the background. Some audios can be catchy and customers would have no trouble remembering our post.
